The Art & History Museums of Maitland (A&H) is a premier cultural destination and community gathering place in Central Florida, about 15 minutes from downtown Orlando. A&H is a group of sophisticated attractions that includes a contemporary art museum, 3 interactive history museums, and a stunning campus recognized as Central Florida's only National Historic Landmark. A&H also features a community art school nestled among its beautiful gardens and unique architecture.Founded in 1937 as an artists’ retreat, our space still fulfills this mission today with multiple artist residencies serving both local and international artists. A&H provides the Central Florida community with many  activities every month, including free family programming, affordable site tours, and free presentations on art and history from visiting experts. Free Family Days at A&H

Families are invited to four free seasonal family days a year. Each day has a themed family art workshop, craft stations, face painting, scavenger hunt and free admission to our museums!  Grandparents are welcome too!

Surrounded by artists’ studios in our main garden, families will use their imaginations to create mini winter wonderlands with clay, natural materials and frosty embellishments at our Family Art Workshop!We’ll have other surprises too, like ❄️ snowy craft stations ❄️ face painting ❄️ a winter themed scavenger hunt ❄️ and free admission to three museums!A&amp;H’s Maitland Art Center was originally built in 1937 as an artists’ colony and named the Research Studio. Our founder, artist J. Andre’ Smith, had a dream that all artists creating in this space would experiment with art, and we can’t think of a more fun way to celebrate winter then by creating winter themed arts and crafts on our National Historic Landmark Campus!Our Winter Family Day is free of charge and sponsored by Massey Services. The Family Art Workshop is recommended for children ages 4 and over, and under 4 with parental help.
