Homeschool Day at the Telephone Museum + Children's Sculpture Art Workshop
Overview
DATE: MAY 1, 2026 - Homeschool Day at the Telephone Museum PLUS Children's Sculpture Art Workshop
Your homeschool students (grades K - 5) are invited to step back into time as we explore communications technology and the history of the telephone at A&H’s Telephone Museum. In our interactive guided tour, children will see the switching station, hands-on displays and discover the story of the Winter Park Telephone Company, founded in Maitland Florida by Carl Galloway.
Afterwards, join our education team as we combine art and technology! We’ll first learn about two important art concepts - lines and space, and then use this information to create 3D art sculptures featuring vintage telephone wires. Sculptures will be ready to take home at the conclusion of the program!
The cost is $10 per child and includes all the art supplies, and adults are $5 each. Sculpture creating is for students (best for registered kiddos in grades K-5). Adults are welcome to help their student(s).
After the program, you're invited to have a picnic lunch right next door at Quinn Strong Park.
Please note: space is very limited due to the small size of the museum and art studio. Preregistration on Eventbrite is required, and walk-ins / refunds are not available for Homeschool Days.
If you have any questions about our homeschool day, please feel free to contact our education team at education@artandhistory.org.
