How much is the event?

PLEASE PAY WHAT YOU CAN. We want this event to be accessible to everyone, regardless of financial situation. We suggest $25, but please feel free to pay what you can comfortably afford. No girl will be turned away, but YOU MUST BE REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT.

What if I haven't started my period yet?

Accepted Answer

This program is recommended for girls that have already reached menarche (their first period) or are close to starting. The recommended age for this event is  9 years or older. However, if your child  is not in this age group, but think she would benefit, she is welcome to participate.

Question 3

I came to the last period prep event. Should I attend this one also?

Accepted Answer

YES! We will still cover everything from the last period prep party (for those that missed it) AND go into more detailed explanations of topics for those that came to the last event and already understand the basics.

Question 4

Do parents/gaurdians need to stay for the event?

Accepted Answer

No, parents/guardians are welcome to drop off child(ren). Please be sure to sign in and out and promptly pick up your child by the end of the event (12pm).

Will lunch be served?

Accepted Answer

No lunch will be served, but light snacks will be provided.** If your child has a food allergy or restriction please notify the staff as soon as possible (email: info@aflohealth.com).

Is there free parking?

Accepted Answer

Yes, parking is free. There is a lot on MacArthur Blvd and a back lot on Florida Street.

Question 7

How long is the event?

Accepted Answer

The event is 2 hours (10am-12pm). Check in starts at  9:45  and we will promptly get the party started by 10:15! Please plan to be ready to leave or pick your child up by 12pm .

I missed the last period prep event. Should I still attend ?

Accepted Answer

Yes! This is the right time to learn about your body and ways to be healthy. We will still cover everything from the last period prep party (for those that missed it) AND go into more detailed explanations of topics for those that came to the last event and already understand the basics.

Question 9

What if I already know the basics? Will I  be bored?

Accepted Answer

No, don't worry, this is a no boredom zone!  We understand that everyone has a different level of comfort when talking about and understanding menstruation. We will meet each girl where they're at in the way we share and present the information. Plus, games and prizes are different each session!
