Yes, it is free to attend. We suggesting registering to guarantee a seat because we tend to get to full capacity in previous years.

When did this event first start?

Jubilee Festival started on the porch of the Narragansett House Bed & Breakfast in 2021. It was a weekend gathering of friends and neighbors who wanted to commemorative in joy the Freedom Day that ended slavery in America. It was hosted by Kahina Van Dyke, owner of the Narragansett House.

Why is it free?  Who pays for it?

It is free to ensure that everyone who wants to attend can attend. Inclusivity is an important value for us and we wanted to be a celebration for all. It is generously supported by donations of community members who support the mission of freedom and joy for all.
