La Bruja Tango

This is a fast-paced tango dance class for folks who have been dancing regularly for at least six months.  Queer-friendly class.  All ages.

Berkeley City Club

Join us for intermediate tango with Felipe Martinez and Ayano Yoneda! This is a series of three classes held at the Berkeley City Club. Tango is an improvisational dance based on connection and communication. Felipe and Ayano teach the fundamental structures that give rise to grace, fluidity, and creativity in social dancing. No partner necessary.These classes are taught using the terms "leaders" and "followers," and are inclusive to queer, trans, and non-binary people.Wednesdays: July 16th, 25th, and 30th 7:00-8:00 pm beginning tango (not included in intermediate ticket) 8:00-8:30 pm practica 8:30-9:30 pm intermediate tango 9:30-10:30 pm practicaThe practicas are included with the classes. Intermediate students may arrive at 8:00 to practice. Note: there is no class on Wednesday, July 9th.$65.87 general admission (three classes) $49.87 student with ID (three classes)Berkeley City Club 2315 Durant Ave. Berkeley, CA 94704We are a 10-minute walk from Downtown Berkeley BART. For bike parking, use the bell to enter through the service entrance, and go straight to get to the back courtyard. No parking in the City Club lot. Extra parking is available for $2 per hour at the Ellsworth Structure at 2337 Haste St.Event organized by Lindsey Newbold. La Bruja Tango holds tango classes almost every Wednesday.
