<h1>Brief Intervention </h1>The 1 hour webinar will be presented by Jim Winkle, M.P.H. The webinar will be from 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM. The Objectives of this webinar are to: <ol><li>Discuss the drawbacks of a directive style of communication..</li><li>Describe principles of harm reduction philosophy..</li><li>Perform four steps of a brief intervention..</li><li>Define OARS communication skills.</li></ol>

This training is supported by the Oregon Rural Practice-based Research Network’s <a href="https://www.ohsu.edu/oregon-rural-practice-based-research-network" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a><a href="https://www.ohsu.edu/oregon-rural-practice-based-research-network" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">(ORPRN)</a> ANTECEDENT project. ANTECEDENT focuses on addressing unhealthy alcohol use in Oregon. The project team intends to work with over 80 primary care clinics and provide each clinic with the evidence and tools they need to help patients with moderate to severe Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) through the use of Screening and Brief Intervention (SBI) and Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT).
