<h2>BayREN, StopWaste, and Franklin Energy present:</h2>The Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN) is a collaboration of the nine counties that make up the San Francisco Bay Area. Led by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG), BayREN provides regional-scale energy efficiency programs, services, and resources. BayREN is funded by utility ratepayer funds through the California Public Utilities Commission, as well as other sources, drawing on the expertise, knowledge, and proven track record of Bay Area local governments.BayREN provides trainings specifically for real estate and appraisal professionals to enable market recognition of the value of a green home during real estate transactions. Trainings also help real estate and appraisal professionals understand the basics of an energy efficient home and available resources, such as incentives for upgrades and assessments offered through BayREN.Description Join us to gain a wealth of cutting-edge knowledge, including principles and practices that distinguish green buildings from traditional buildings, methods for appraising high-performance homes, and approaches to solve solar-related valuation problems. Additionally, did you know the secondary mortgage market guidelines require this competency prior to accepting an assignment? Read on for full course details and registration information.Day 1 Course | Appraising Green Homes: Construction Methods &amp; TrendsMonday 18th | 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This course is designed to provide information on the rapidly expanding field of green building and introduce participants to all phases of green residential construction, from proper siting of a home to finish material selection. The class begins with an overview of the history of green building and then explains its five key elements in detail. This will provide learners with an in-depth understanding of green building in order to equip you to competently analyze these properties in appraisal assignments. Day 1 course concludes with a discussion on green home certification programs, guidelines and the possible impact on home appraisals.Day 2 Course | Appraising Green Homes: Valuation TechniquesTuesday 19th | 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. This course is intended to provide appraisers with the information and resources needed to make well-supported and accurate valuation decisions for green properties. Day 2 course begins with an overview of the most current data available for the valuation of green homes, then presents the cost approach as it applies to these properties. Participants will then perform an in-depth analysis of the sales comparison approach and valuation techniques that can be applied to green properties. Day 3 Course | Appraising Green Homes: Advanced Applications Wednesday 20th | 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. The valuation techniques from Day 1 and 2 will be directly applied to appraisal case studies during Day 3 course, which will provide tools that can be integrated into real-world practice. Upon passing a formal exam, the student will be able to use the designation of Accredited Green Appraiser.9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Virtual Classroom training ** Class will begin promptly at 9:00 A p.m. - 5 p.m. Closed-Book Quiz **** Must pass the quiz with 70% of higher to earn the designation and Continuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers. The State Board of Equalization is offering 7 hours of training credit for each day completed to certified property tax appraisers working for Bay Area county assessors.Course Fees Thanks to the generous support of BayREN and StopWaste there is no registration fee for this training. Continuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers Upon completion of the three required courses and successfully passing the quizzes at the end of each course with a grade of 70% or higher, you will receive 20 Continuing Education Hours approved by the Bureau of Real Estate Appraisers.

Training Hours approved by the State Board of Equalization Upon completion of each day and successfully passing the quiz at the end of each course with a grade of 70% or higher, certified property tax appraiser working for Bay Area assessors will receive 7 hours training credit. Requirements<ul><li>By registering for this training, you agree to take the quizzes at the end of each course.</li><li>You must be a licensed Appraiser and be available to take all three (3) courses.</li><li>Participants who take all three classes and pass the exam will be listed on the Earth Advantage&#x27;s Find a Professional.</li><li>Class will begin promptly at 9:00 am.</li></ul>Maintaining Your AccreditationAppraisers must earn 4 CEs in green real estate education every 2 yrs to maintain the AGA designation: Your renewal deadline is 2 years from the last day of the class. Renewals then re-occur in 2-year cycles. There are several opportunities to satisfy the CE requirements:Earth Advantage CoursesIf you took AGA before 2012, we highly recommend that you take the updated course again as a refresher. AGA is offered in both live and online formats. You can visit Earth Advantage&#x27;s Education Calendar to browse courses currently being offered, or sign up for updates on other courses. CEs for an Earth Advantage course will be automatically applied to your renewal after completion.  You can browse this list of courses from other providers that Earth Advantage has approved. You will need to submit the Accreditation Renewal Form if you take a course from a provider besides Earth Advantage. Training Material Electronic versions of all materials needed for this training will be provided prior to the start of Day 1. Students have the option to download and print the student manuals or bring a laptop or tablet with wifi-capabilities to access the PowerPoint presentation, student manuals, Case Study worksheet, etc during the training.Attendance Policies You must attend the entire training and pass the quizzes at the end of each course in order to receive BREA credit and the Accredited Green Appraiser certification.Exam DetailsThere will be quizzes at the end of each training day.There is a requirement to pass with 70% or higher in order to earn the Accredited Green Appraiser certification.
