On June 20th, you're invited to come celebrate live Black art in Seattle when #TheBLACKOUT, Seattle's only all Black comedy showcase proudly presents a Juneteenth special variety show featuring comedy, burlesque and musical performances from an all Black cast! This one-night only event features a stunning lineup of performers, guaranteed to seduce, entertain, and delight you with their art. Our cast of performers includes burlesque from Judas Saint James and Rockabilly Barbie, comedy from JoJo Blacco, A-QUEEN, and Mama Fi, and musical performances from Diamond Lil and CarLarans. #TheBLACKOUT's Juneteenth celebration is an opportunity to witness culture, joy, resistance, and freedom as they take center stage. CarLarans is a Seattle-based electro-soul and hip-hop artist known for blending soul, house, gospel, and rap into a bold, genre-bending sound. Originally from southern Indiana, CarLarans has built a name through electrifying performances, fashion-forward visuals, and lyrics rooted in empowerment, identity, and queer Black excellence. Drawing influence from gospel roots, 2000s R&amp;B, ballroom culture, and high fashion, CarLarans’ music spans from sultry slow burns to runway-ready anthems. Notable projects include Raw Hnny (2019), Black-N-Gold (2017), and Dead Serious (2021).

Chosen as Denver’s Mile High Burlesque Festival’s Most High 2024 and winner of Portland’s Brag Awards Competition “Legacy Award” in 2023 for professionalism and poise, Rockabilly Barbie is known for leaving her audiences thoroughly teased, pleased, and wanting more!! Not only does Barbie produce her own bi-monthly and quarterly Shows in Kitsap County, Washington, she is also well known as an internationally published pinup model, with over a decade of modeling experience! Currently, she holds the reining title of Miss Rockabilly Rumble 2023 and has been published in over 50 magazines, including gracing the cover of the international Bombshell Magazine and has multiple covers with Retro Lovely Magazine; the largest pinup publication in the world!

The daughter of local Seattle Comic Legend Cliff Barnes, A-QUEEN is continuing his legacy. TALK about skills. A-QUEEN is a multi-talented creator of comedy, singing, acting, an educator of performance, a writer, and even an ordained minister! She is such a talent with so many comedic tools at her disposal; from her storytelling ability, to her improvisational skills, to her physicality or use of different vocal inflections, all combined together to produce what can only be described as a thoroughly entertaining experience. Such skill and talent rarely descend upon us. She has opened for CeCe Winans, Jay Pharoah, Laurie Killmartin, Reggie Conquest, B.D.Freeman, Rod Long, Debbie Wooten, Ty Barnett, A.J Foster, Nate Jackson, Harlem Blu, James Stephens III, Cliff Barnes, Chris Redd, Zack Foxx, and Robin Montague!

Born in the Appalachian Mountains, Seattle's Sparkling Jewel Diamond Lil, was not formed overnight. Making waves in the Seattle area since her debut in August 2022 at Queen4Queen, she has dazzled across stages and lavished in the rich creative community here in Seattle. Just months after her debut, she competed in the competition "So You Think You Can Drag?" at rPlace and won grand prize, combining her unique perspective and innovative performance concepts to amaze the crowd. This triumph marked a true arrival to the scene, and she continued to sparkle in the monthly production "Black Carousel", an all-black drag revue. The year following that competition she competed again in the queer/bar hosted "The Final Girls" where she battled it out among drag heavyweights and walked away runner-up, securing a spot on the cast of queer/bar's Mx. every weekend. You can find her there to this day spinning, twirling, and flipping across the stage with a smile as big as her hair.

Crowned Seattle’s Queer Monarch 2022 and What the Funk! Festival Shining Star 2023 &amp; 2024 Judas Saint James has been bringing awareness to BIPOC alternative queer culture and the beauty of nonbinary sensuality. As a teacher and performer, Judas has remained loyal to their mission of reclaiming the black origins of rock-n-roll and helping marginalized people see their true internal divinity through mythical storytelling and performance rituals.

Mama Fi is a creative and a Portland native. Whether they’re sharing their musical talents, making others laugh with comedy or streaming their favorite video games, Mama Fi thrives on connecting and cultivating community through creativity and laughter.

JoJo Blacco is a nonbinary comic from Jackson Mississippi who uses their love of pop culture to connect to audiences of any age. JoJo has participated and placed in Nate Jackson’s Funniest MF competition (2024) and has performed all over the PNW, and can be best described as a perfect mix of the Instagram algorithm and a yappy chihuahua.

Javann Jones is a Seattle-based writer, stand-up comedian, and a full-time negro. Born and raised in Alabama, his comedy contains a strong blend of equal parts Southern charm and brazen outspokenness. He's been described as "uncomfortably funny", as his comedy delves directly into topics of race, social justice, politics, identity, and more. He is unapologetically Black and queer, though he does occasionally accept apologies from those who are not. A true fan of dichotomies, Javann is delightful but also has been called an asshole by his partner's therapist.
