San Carlos Climate Action Workshop

City of San Carlos

Please register for the upcoming virtual community workshop for the City of San Carlos’ Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan.

Thank you for registering for the San Carlos Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan Virtual Community Workshop! This virtual community workshop will be held over Zoom. The workshop organizer will follow up with instructions on how to access the Zoom workshop closer to the event date.

You are invited to a community workshop, hosted by the City of San Carlos. Join us virtually on February 9, 2021, 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. to learn about the Climate Mitigation and Adaptation Plan or CMAP. During the workshop, City staff and the consultant team will share updates on the CMAP process to date, draft language for greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction and adaptation strategies, and provide opportunities for feedback on new strategies. Workshop participants will: •	Hear what has been accomplished thus far in the CMAP update process and where the City is at in preparing it.•	Learn about progress in the San Carlos community and where progress will need to occur in the future.•	See preliminary GHG reduction and adaptation strategies categorized by topic.•	Engage with members of the CMAP project team and share ideas on strategies to reduce GHG emissions and to expand adaptable planning techniques in the city. The workshop will include a presentation describing the CMAP progress, the purpose of the workshop, the types of feedback needed, and next steps. The presentation will be augmented with small group discussions where participants will discuss and provide input on draft strategies. This workshop will be interactive and conducted using Zoom, an online video/audio conferencing platform. Workshop participants can join us from a personal computer, tablet, or smart phone with an internet connection. Participants will also have the option to join by phone only if internet access is not available. Since this is an online, virtual workshop, each participant should register unless participants will be sharing a computer. For more information about the project, visit: www.cityofsancarlos.org/climate If you have any questions or require assistance with language interpretation or accessibility needs, please contact Adam Lokar, Management Analyst at alokar@cityofsancarlos.org.
