InstaMed Event: Musculoskeletal System with Midwestern Students

InstaMed is a project created by medical students who are interested in offering interactive, virtual mini-medical school activities.

InstaMed is a project created by medical students of the UA COM-P COVID-19 Student Service Corps who are interested in offering interactive, virtual mini-medical school activities for high school students in Arizona. During this trying time, we want to continue to allow students to pursue their interest in medicine as well as other interprofessional health careers, and with a virtual platform, we are able to reach out to more students than ever before. Our goal is to inspire passion for healthcare careers through introducing high school students to a wide range of health-related topics.This event will occur on Saturday, February 13th, from 10:00am-11:45am via Zoom. The topic of this session is the Musculoskeletal System, looking at the skeleton and muscular systems in the human body. This session will be run by the Midwestern University Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Students. Participants will learn about Osteopathic Medicine and will focus on a case of musculoskeletal pain, also learning how to incorporate Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine into patient care.Please note: If you are a parent who is scheduling multiple students or siblings, please sign up each student individually.Please fill out our <a href="https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSckEn-wPASBdAPhAB_er5n9ENScdG_2pvEybVFUNegSctmTKw/viewform" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Contact form</a> to help us keep track of students who have completed the required forms and so that we may notify you about future InstaMed events. You can also check back on this form to see our other scheduled events!Additionally, parents will need to complete and return Appendix forms C, D, and F and the Participant Virtual Policy Form for their student to participate in any InstaMed events. These forms are due 2 days prior to the event. Please send forms to instamed.cssc@gmail.com.
