Food System 6 (FS6) is a non-profit business accelerator whose mission is to support impact-driven entrepreneurs as they transform how we grow, produce, and distribute food. The organization runs a comprehensive program that mentors entrepreneurs by coaching them through a wide range of business and organizational needs. This episode of the Startup Refresh series will focus on a topic that we too often think of last in our busy lives - self-care. At FS6, we strongly believe that the most successful entrepreneurs are those who are able to prioritize long term health and wellbeing, alongside the more traditional markers of success. Today we will be bringing together three perspectives to back us up: a clinical psychologist, an executive coach, and a startup founder. His current position at Kaiser Permanente has put him at the heart of the community and has sparked a passion to bring fundamental change to the institutional systems that deeply impact the emotional and mental health of the individual immersed within them. Rishi has committed himself to the study of plant medicine as a means to bring about individual and collective transformation. He recently received certification in Psychedelic Assisted Therapy and Research from the California Institute of Integral Studies and aspires to apply this education widely to facilitate systemic change, cultivate hope, and radically change the perspectives of how we approach decisions that impact the health, wellness, and dignity of the individual and the planet we all share.Pamela’s career has been defined by a deep commitment to serve and develop exceptional leaders. She has a superpower of championing game-changers to up-level their work by providing practical tools and brave spaces that help strengthen and build essential inner capacities. Pamela is the founder and CEO of Practical Feet Advisors, a boutique firm that offers Practical Wisdom Mentoring, Strategic Advising and Transformational Convenings. As a natural relationship weaver, Pamela has a successful history of cultivating and activating the conditions for systems change within Executive Leadership positions at BALLE (Common Future), Renewal Investment Funds and Social Venture Circle. She is currently the Board Chair of the TahDah Foundation, Exec Producer of Social Venture Institute (SVI) Women and Hollyhock, advisor to RSF’s Integrated Capital Institute and the proud mother of a precocious 11-year-old daughter.James grew up in New York, his family owned and operated USDA processing facilities in the meatpacking district for over 40 years. He spent the majority of his career in the restaurant industry and dabbled in small scale farming. His time spent in hospitality has proven to be an asset when merchandising and marketing meat for both wholesale and retail audiences.
