Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is designed for intermediate to advanced watercolorists who are comfortable working independently outdoors and want to refine their plein air skills. It’s a working artist trip—curious beginners and non-painting companions will need to join us another time!

What’s included in the workshop?

Your registration includes:

Daily plein air watercolor instruction with Susan O’Neill,

guided cultural tours in the Costa Brava region,

7 nights hotel accommodations with daily breakfast,

group transportation to the hotel, the itinerary locations, and entrance fees to itinerary sites.

What’s not included?

Airfare to and from Spain, travel insurance, lunch and dinner, and personal art supplies are not included.

What should I bring?

A recommended supply list will be provided after registration. Expect to bring your preferred watercolor materials, a portable easel or sketching setup, comfortable walking shoes, and appropriate attire for painting outdoors.

How physically demanding is the trip?

Moderately—participants should be in reasonably good physical shape and prepared for daily walking, standing while painting, and some uneven, rocky paths as we explore the region’s natural and historic landscapes.

How do I reserve my spot?

Purchase a Reserve-a-Spot Deposit Ticket to secure your place. You’ll receive the full itinerary, updates, and next steps to complete your booking.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. Deposits are fully refundable through November 15, 2026.

How much does the trip cost?

The current estimated cost is $3,245 per person (double occupancy). A $754 single supplement applies for those requesting a private room. Final pricing will be confirmed shortly.

When is full payment due?

Full payment is due 45 days before we depart for Spain. We’ll break the total into three manageable payments, and once we receive your deposit, we’ll send you all the dates and details you’ll need. We’re here to make the process easy!

Can I bring a friend or spouse who doesn’t paint?

Unfortunately, no. Every space is reserved for a painting participant, and the group size is intentionally limited to create a focused and immersive experience.

What should I pack?

You’ll receive a complete supply list upon registration. We recommend travel-friendly watercolor materials, a portable easel or sketching setup, and comfortable clothes and shoes for outdoor painting.

What happens if the trip is canceled?

In the unlikely event The Art League cancels the workshop, all payments, including deposits, will be refunded in full.
