Amplify US!: Transitions In Power

Story Tapestries is a leading arts service organization that enhances accessibility and equity in educational and community spaces through:1) professional performances in storytelling, theater, dance, spoken word and other art forms in a variety of public spaces;2) workshops and in-depth training programs to build students of all ages’ ability to use the performing, visual, and literary arts to develop their voices, share their stories and increase their literacy, social-emotional and STEAM skills; and3) collaborations with other service-providing organizations as a means to spark open community dialogue that promotes social justice and inclusivity and shifts the power dynamic, breaking down the barriers that apparently divide us to connect with our humanity and bring light to our likenesses.

Using poetry, we will explore who we are in a new year, share our stories and our struggles to navigate change. We will explore how we are united in our apprehension and who are we in a country of toxicity and betrayal? Join us as Regie Cabico and Michelle Faulkner-Forson of Story Tapestries lead candid discussions with writing and poetry. This workshop is open to all adults and is a safe and nurturing space for all people to candidly share their work and hearts.The Amplify US! Initiative is a collective of artists and arts organizations including Story Tapestries, Arts on the Block, and Capfire Arts. The Initiative delivers free multi-generational workshops and performances for anyone in 7th grade or older who would like to learn to better express themselves and tell their story through art. If you&#x27;re interested and feel a need to tell your story, join the conversation, or wish to listen, please register to receive the Zoom link to join us! You may register for free, however, you may also show your support for the artists leading the workshop by making a donation.Thank you!
