Do YOU know how to stop a life-threatening bleed and save a life? The American College of Surgeon's "Stop the Bleed" course will be presented for certification, augmented by additional information regarding emergency wound care in this free 3-hour in-person class presented by Los Angeles InfraGard. The final hour includes practical tourniquet and wound packing training on realistic wound simulation devices. Dr. Michael Kirk is a "Stop the Bleed" instructor and an emergency room physician with 38 years of experience, as well as having spent 18 years as a disaster reservist on a DMAT team in the National Disaster Medical System and 15 years in the Medical Reserve Corps. Please arrive at 08:00-8:15 am for sign-in, coffee and pastries.For those interested, you will be escorted to the FBI store where you can purchase FBI logo merchandise. You will then return to the classroom for the Stop the Bleed class.Class will begin at 9:00am and will run through about 12:00pm. Come learn how to Stop the Bleed and save a life. The location is in Westwood, Los Angeles. Specific directions and address will be provided prior to the event. Register now. Space is limited, so it will be first registered, first admitted.
