Come learn from the Vitalant Components Processing Team and the Lab Manager of Incyte Diagnostics!

Please join 2 of our local partners as they showcase careers in blood processing and the skills students need to enter these fields.First, join Ian Martin, Manufacturing Supervisor at Vitalant Blood Center as he walks us through the manufacturing process used in producing lifesaving blood components for patients in the surrounding 35 area hospitals of the Inland Northwest and across the country. Understand the dynamic world of separating blood into their many component options and then producing a final product that is then shipped or couriered off to our patients. Learn about processing careers and the skills needed to be successful. Then listen as Timothy Hawley, Clinical Lab Manager at Incyte Diagnostics, as he showcases laboratory careers. Laboratory personnel examine and analyze blood, body fluids and cells. They look for bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms; analyze the chemical contents of blood; and test for drug levels in the blood that show how a patient is responding to treatment. Learn the skills and types of positions that are available in the Medical Laboratory. Teaching the Teachers workshops gives educators the chance to attend a workshop hosted by a local business to learn about the careers and relevant skills students need to open a pathway to their future career. Businesses provide their expertise to share a real-life look at their organization, the types of careers they employ, and the training required to successfully work in their industry. We invite you to help us build a world-class talent pipeline. Workshops are open to all teachers, advisors, college &amp; career readiness counselors, administrators in NEWESD 101. STEM clock hours will be provided to each attendee.2 STEM Clock Hours will be provided to qualified attendees.Zoom link will be sent to registrants closer to the event.
