How long is the Grief Walk?

Accepted Answer

The duration of the Grief Walk will vary depending on the size of the group and how much sharing we do. Listening to Grief tries to keep the Grief Walks to around 90 minutes, but past walks have gone longer. Participants are welcome to leave early if you have other commitments.

Question 2

Will the Grief Walk still happen if it is raining?

Accepted Answer

We'll play it by ear. The Grief Walk will be canceled if there is lightning, high winds, or other hazardous conditions. Participants will be notified by email if the Grief Walk is canceled for weather or any other reason.

Question 3

Should I bring anything?

Accepted Answer

Bring water and dress for the weather.  The path may be muddy, so please wear appropriate shoes.

Question 4

Will I have to share the details about my loss?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely not. Everything we share is optional, and we will not ask anyone to share the details of their loss. During introductions, we will ask your name and what loss brings you to the Walk.

Question 5

No one has died, but I still have a lot of grief. Can I come?

Accepted Answer

Yes! All types of grief are welcome. Past participants have grieved he death of a loved one--including pets--as well as divorce, loss of self, grief over climate chaos, grief over our current political situation, and combinations of multiple griefs. It's all welcome and cared for during the Walk.
