Cooking with Stuy – Lunar New Year Edition

Join us for the first virtual Cooking with Stuy.We will usher in the Lunar New Year demonstrating how to cook Golden Coin (egg) dumplings, a traditional Chinese New Year dish. The golden colored dumplings augur in the good fortune that we all are all hoping for! This special dumpling dish frequently accompanies a hotpot -- allowing a whole village to sit down join together for a new year’s feast, an old tradition gathering new attention in these times. We will also provide tips for hotpot preparation. We will be welcoming live from Shanghai the family of a junior Stuy student whose father and grandfather, Mark Yang and Yang Qilou are quarantining in China together, with translation as needed from her brother Henry Wallace in the Bronx.Also joining in will be Stuy teacher Ms. Marissa Maggio and her mother who together will be critiquing, directing, and cooking along.This podcast is hosted by Fanny Lawren who had a lifestyle show called, “Fun with Fanny” which was a cooking show broadcasted nationwide in the US and Greater China.
