Curator’s Tour: Puerto Rico in Print: The Posters of Lorenzo Homar

Offered through the  Department of Continuing Educaiton at The Cooper Union, Data@Cooper is lead by  industry professionals, the program focuses on both the creative and technical aspects of working with data + design. Program participants  learn about designing for and working with all different types of data and information through learning to research and code their own interactive and print projects.

<p>Lorenzo Homar was a pioneering printmaker, poster designer, calligrapher, painter, illustrator, caricaturist, and costume and theatrical set designer. Active from the 1950s through the 1990s, few equal his impact and influence as a teacher of poster design and printmaking in Latin America.</p><p>Lorenzo Homar fue pionero del grabado, el diseño de carteles, la caligrafía, la pintura, la ilustración, la caricatura, el vestuario y la escenografía teatral. Activo entre las décadas de 1950 y 1990, pocas personas han igualado su impacto e influencia como maestro del diseño de carteles y las artes gráficas en América Latina.</p>
