SCYLab Presents is a series of talks relevant to school and youth mental health presented by the School, Child and Youth Mental Health and Wellbeing Research Lab at the University of Limerick.

<h3>SCYLab Presents: Dr. Simona Skripkauskaite</h3> Dr. Simona Skripkauskaite is a researcher specialising in child and adolescent mental health, with a particular focus on neurodiversity and social development. Her work bridges experimental and longitudinal survey methods, with a strong emphasis on advanced quantitative analysis to uncover the complex factors influencing mental health outcomes across diverse contexts. Dr Skripkauskaite, is an ADR UK Fellowship exploring service access for neurodivergent children with mental health conditions, using linked administrative data (ECHILD) and co-producing research with young people, parents, and policymakers. She leads a UK-Japan ESRC/JSPS project examining the long-term mental health impacts of COVID-19 on young people and families, building on her previous work with the Co-SPACE study. She also chairs the international Co-SPACE Consortium, coordinating research across 10+ countries. Additionally she leads studies within the OxWell Student Survey, investigating the intersection of adolescent wellbeing, online activity, self-harm, and neurodiversity. Title of Talk: Isolation despite hyper-connectivity? The association between adolescents’ mental health and online behaviours in a large study of school-aged students This presentation will present findings on the links between time spent on social media, anxiety and depression symptoms and loneliness drawing on a sample of 14,726 adolescents (aged 12–16 years) using data from the OxWell 2021 student survey.
