This tccodes service enables you to mature as a new developer gaining insight into what it takes to be a member of a professional dev team.

20Fathoms (virtual event)

This experience is designed for coders ready to make the transition into a professional software developer role. What to ExpectYou will work closely with a coach as you mirror the experiences of seasoned developers within Constellation Software. You will mature as a developer and learn new skill-sets while gaining insight into what it means to be a professional developer. The course will have three fundamental goals. <ol><li>To gain experience writing quality code through test driven development, code reviews, and coaching. </li><li>To grow comfortable with the cadence of Scrum driven development through stand-ups, sprint planning, and sprint review sessions. </li><li>To integrate fundamental architectural and design concepts within your projects to further your skill-sets and marketability. </li></ol>Participants will leave the course having written meaningful code to utilize during the interview process. More importantly, developers will understand and be able to speak to quality focused concepts and practices that hiring managers inherently search for. Lastly, cohort members can use these experiences to ease the transition to a professional development role having lived through code reviews, sprint review sessions, and daily stand-ups. About the Instructor: Ryan BeaverRyan assists in architecture, design, and roadmap development for core Emphasys development teams. He previously served as both Director of Development and Architect at Emphasys Software where he developed a healthy sense of self-doubt that encouraged an ongoing passion for self-study. Ryan is a graduate of Northwestern Michigan College and Ferris State University and has spent most of the past 20 years in the Traverse City area. Who Should Attend Developers in the first two years of their career who want to better understand the fundamentals of writing maintainable, high-quality code.FormatFocusing primarily on SOLID design principles, the course utilizes pull requests/code reviews to examine development efforts while highlighting area’s where SOLID principles might be applied. Additionally, one-on-one sessions are utilized weekly to discuss the results of code reviews while providing ample Q &amp; A time.CostNorthern Michigan residents are eligible to attend this program at no charge, thanks to funding from the MICA 2.0 grant provided by Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.PrerequisitesA beginner&#x27;s level development skillset. Additionally, some fundamental understandings of GitHub are helpful but not required.Required ToolsA free GitHub account.Get Started Participation in this coaching experience is by invitation only.
