This course will be a fast-paced, deep dive into building back-end applications using .NET 5. Participants will add new functionality to the Fall 2020 Full-Stack Cohort email application while coordinating with the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/front-end-app-dev-from-concept-through-deployment-tickets-135158170727" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">tccodes front-end course</a> focused on the same application. What to Expect<ul><li>Review of the Fall 2020 Full-Stack Cohort email application.</li><li>Add authentication allowing users to sign in/up using Github.com accounts.</li><li>Update the email delivery system to support scheduled email blasts.</li><li>Learn how to design a loosely coupled system using dependency injection.</li><li>Develop experience and skills related to working in a full-stack development environment.</li></ul>Derek will present and demonstrate building components supporting an emailer application. These services will be coordinated with the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/front-end-app-dev-from-concept-through-deployment-tickets-135158170727" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">front-end course</a> working on the same emailer application. About the Presenter: Derek SmithDerek is Co-founder &amp; Chief Technology Officer at Naveego, where he designs and develops the platform that is helping businesses tackle data quality and master data management. As CTO, he also guides Naveego as it experiences its early stage growth; helping to shape the company into a leading cloud data platform. As a Traverse City native, Derek believes the area is a great location for building a cloud-based software company. He is excited to be part of the growing technology presence in our region and is dedicated to growing Naveego right here.Who Should AttendThis course is designed for developers looking to expand their full-stack development skills. Participants should have an intermediate or advanced level of experience building applications with the C#, specifically back-end applications. FormatRequired: Seven virtual bi-weekly workshop sessions beginning on Thursday, Feb. 4.Optional: A community lab will be held on Wednesday evening of every off week. These lab sessions will enable additional coordination, communication, and hands-on support.CostNorthern Michigan residents are eligible to attend this program at no charge, thanks to funding from the MICA 2.0 grant provided by Michigan’s Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity.PrerequisitesIn order to be successful in this course, participants are expected to have an intermediate to advanced level of experience building applications with C# (.NET Famework).
