Front-end developers must be able to wield the tools at their disposal to translate a design into functional technology. In order to do so successfully, developers must first understand how the design team operates and why they make the decisions they do. In this course, we&#x27;ll first dive into design principles and tools, and then apply that knowledge to build a front-end web application. Along the way, we&#x27;ll coordinate with the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/back-end-app-dev-from-concept-through-deployment-tickets-135158271027" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">tccodes back-end course</a> focused on the same application. What to Expect<ul><li>Learn principles of human-centered and user experience design </li><li>Learn fundamental design principles (colors, typography, visual hierarchy, etc.)</li><li>Use design tools to build prototypes</li><li>Build a self-documenting scalable design system in React + Typescript</li><li>Build a basic front-end to a web application </li></ul>Justin will present and demonstrate the design and build of an emailer application. This user interface will be coordinated with the <a href="https://www.eventbrite.com/e/back-end-app-dev-from-concept-through-deployment-tickets-135158271027" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">tccodes back-end course</a> creating services that support the same emailer application. About the Instructor: Justin GauthierJustin is a Lead Developer at Brightly, an experience design and digital transformation company focused on turning complex business challenges into elegant, simple software. As Lead Developer, he guides development teams through difficult build challenges and even rolls up his sleeves to take on some complex tasks himself.Who Should AttendThis course is designed for people who know the fundamentals of coding and are looking to create scalable front-end design systems.FormatRequired: Seven virtual bi-weekly workshop sessions beginning on Wednesday, Feb. 3.Optional: A community lab will be held on Wednesday evening of every off week.
