LivingWorks ASIST is a two-day face-to-face suicide prevention workshop featuring powerful audiovisuals, discussions, and simulations.

Autumn's Center (basement)

Training will take place in the basement of the Autumn&#x27;s Center (120 E 5th St, Spencer, IA 51301)!TIMES &amp; DATES:<ol><li>Wednesday, February 24th, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM</li><li>Thursday, February 25th, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM</li></ol>MASKS REQUIRED; LUNCH, SNACKS, AND WATER PROVIDED!At a LivingWorks ASIST workshop, participants will learn how to prevent suicide by recognizing signs, providing a skilled intervention, and developing a safety plan to keep someone alive. Two knowledgeable, supportive trainers will guide participants through the course, ensuring participant comfort and safety.Over the course of their two-day workshop, ASIST participants learn to:<ul><li>Understand the ways that personal and societal attitudes affect views on suicide and interventions;</li><li>Provide guidance and suicide first aid to a person at risk in ways that meet their individual safety needs;</li><li>Identify the key elements of an effective suicide safety plan and the actions required to implement it;</li><li>Appreciate the value of improving and integrating suicide prevention resources in the community at large;</li><li>And recognize other important aspects of suicide prevention including life-promotion and self-care.</li></ul>Register today to receive more details as the training date approaches!
