State of UK's health reflects the broken food system and the need for transformation from ‘farm to fork'.Despite the lessons of COVID-19, UK governments have not tackled food insecurity and inequalities. In contrast, communities take responsibility in collective care through networks of informal support, working with third and emergency food aid sectors and food partnerships. Mountains of food waste are redistributed but in a postcode lottery of nutritional quality and quantity. This is unsustainable for the health of communities or unpaid workforce.Conference explores social and economic changes needed to tackle disparities in power and that would support food sovereignty and food democracy. It examines how to embed right to food across policy so to tackle the nutritional inequalities which impact health of children, racialised minorities and most vulnerable people.Poverty and hunger are political choices. Politics of blame, such as on immigration, endangers our rights in UK. Human rights are rolled back as food is used as a weapon of war in Sudan, and through policies of starvation in Gaza. To protect human rights, conference explores, politics of unity, solidarity, care and accountability. Successes are celebrated, including the extension of free school meals by No Child Left Behind Coalition with Sustain, Food Foundation and Right to Food networks; developing income-based solutions of IFAN, and in establishing Right to Food towns and cities.More is needed.
