The Interfaith Environmental Network of Houston seeks to empower the faith community in Houston to advocate and act collectively as stewards of the environment by (a) fostering a strong connection between the rich faith community of greater Houston and Houston-area environmental organizations in order to reach shared goals and by (b) empowering their members to advocate and take action on behalf of the environment.The Interfaith Environmental Network of Houston is a Houston affiliate of the TX Interfaith Center for Public Policy based in Austin, TX.TX Interfaith Center for Public Policy is a 501 c3 organization.

<p>June 2025 is the perfect time to refresh your advocacy knowledge and set goals for engaging your faith community around issues that impact the planet and its peoples. Why is it such a perfect time? Getting started now gives you plenty of time to get ready for elections in 2026. Faith communities typically don't want to be seen as "political," but, as we'll cover in this workshop, faith communities can—and should—provide important education and leadership roles in nonpartisan civic engagement. Join Bee Moorhead, executive director of Texas Impact, an interfaith justice advocacy organization, and her colleagues, to talk about what that looks like "in real life," and do a deep dive into Texas Impact's specific Houston-area resources and projects.
