The Austin Group Psychotherapy Society is an interdisciplinary organization of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and counselors who share a mutual commitment to continuing professional development and to excellence in the practice of group psychotherapy.Over the past decade, the Austin Group Psychotherapy Society (AGPS) has gained national recognition for the quality of our training opportunities and the warmth and enthusiasm of our members.AGPS trainings and social events are designed to mentor new professionals and students, expand the knowledge and clinical skills of all members, and enrich and rejuvenate established practitioners.

AGPS Annual Business Meeting: Vibrant Online Groups and Therapist Fatigue

We’ve learned that online group can be a powerful way to connect in groups. Yet as therapists we are all managing our own ongoing experiences of the pandemic, social unrest, and unpredictability.Join us at the AGPS Annual Meeting where we’ve made space to connect with you. We’ll briefly share about AGPS business including opportunity for member announcements, upcoming changes, and the health of AGPS as an organization. AGPS President Scott Phillips will interview Joseph Acosta about the vibrance and fatigue in leading remote therapy groups. We’ll then have time to connect and share in small groups about our own experiences of being leaders during these times. Lastly, we’ll have optional meet-ups with various AGPS Board members where folks can stop by for Q&amp;A, offer ideas, explore being involved, or just visit.
