<p>Seattle CityClub is proud to host the Civic Boot Camp series Women in Action: Leadership Towards an Equitable Pandemic Economy. Join our panels of trailblazing regional women leaders as they reveal the disproportionate impacts of the pandemic and investigate new, emerging challenges to an equitable path forward. This series will offer an in-depth look at a variety of industries, from education to the economy, and participants can expect to walk away - virtually - feeling ready to become an active participant in our post-pandemic community. Civic Boot Camp will feature exclusive interviews and participants will be provided with a complementary Resource Guide consisting of curated readings, articles, and volunteer opportunities from CityClub staff.</p><p>This first webinar on Friday, September 10 will feature a panel of women leaders in  education and empowerment initiatives. They will reflect on how the pandemic economy impacts youth and young adults and the steps needed for recovery.</p><h3>Key questions: </h3><ul><li>How has the pandemic impacted youth and students’ educational outcomes and social development? </li><li>What challenges do  youth and students face in their efforts to recover from the &#x27;lost&#x27; year and continuing pandemic? (especially as we also confront larger issues such as racial reckoning, health care, climate change).</li><li>With the increase in cases due to the Delta variant and changing COVID restrictions, how can schools and other institutions prepare for the transition to in-person learning?</li><li>What does the future hold for young professionals as they continue their academic and professional journeys? </li><li>How can we, as a community, support students and young professionals and equitable educational opportunities?</li><li>Acknowledging that we continue to be in the midst of a pandemic, what have we learned from this experience that will help us be better prepared for future disruptions to our educational systems?</li></ul><h3>Speakers:</h3><ul><li><strong>Natalie Vega O&#x27;Neil</strong>, President and CEO, Junior Achievement of Washington</li><li><strong>Victoria Santos</strong>, Co-Founder, BIPOC ED Coalition of WA State</li><li><strong>Petaki Cobell</strong>, Director, Right Now Needs Fund, Alliance for Education</li></ul><h3>Moderator:</h3><ul><li><strong>Jenefeness Tucker</strong>, Faculty Coordinator, Seattle Central College</li></ul><h3>Interviews (pre-recorded):</h3><ul><li><strong>Jean Rolfe</strong>, Co-Founder, Seattle CityClub</li><li><strong>Fatima Jamal,</strong> Student, University of Washington, Bothell</li><li><strong>Brittany Do,</strong> Student, University of Washington and Author &quot;Bigger than Leadership&quot;</li></ul><p>The webinar will run for 1 hour with a post-panel 30-minute, small group breakout session so that participants can interact directly with the speakers.
