Yin Yoga

The Kota Alliance is an umbrella organization elevating collaboration across borders for women-centered nonprofits, social enterprises and entrepreneurs.  We offer a hub where women can gather for community events and programs provided in collaboration with our local partners. By sharing ideas, networking, advocating, and working together, we advance gender equity and promote women’s empowerment, both locally and globally. In West Harlem, we focus on the needs of women and girls in the local community, and offer programs in digital and financial literacy, healing arts, and health and wellness.

Yin Yoga is a slow practice that increases suppleness and flexibility

Through breath and letting go, we will sustain the poses to increase suppleness in the joints and promote flexibility. We will hold poses for 3-5 minutes, with the intention of lengthening the connective tissue (fascia) of the body. Please have a mat, yoga blocks or alternatives (stacks of books or wrapped paper towel rolls) and a blanket or towel.Instructor:Sabrina Moscola is a native New Yorker and RYT-200, certified in Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. She is also the Deputy Editor and Writer for NEW YORK YOGA + LIFE Magazine and leads creative meditation and journaling workshops. Her love of writing is often woven into classes by sharing poems and passages, and exploring the narrative created by a slower practice with curiosity and humor.
