The Neuroscience of Yoga – The Awakening of Human Potential

Discover how yogic practices rewire neural pathways, regulate the autonomic nervous system, awaken subtle perception, and expand consciousness beyond ordinary cognition.

The Neuroscience of Yoga Summit invites you into an afternoon of grounding practices, illuminating science, and awakened wisdom. Rooted in ancient yogic teachings and enriched by modern neuroscience, this free online event explores how we stay steady amid uncertainty, regulated amid stress, and awake amid distraction. Together, we rise—anchored in awareness, strengthened by breath, and united in resilience and possibility.

We begin with a powerful keynote from Marjorie Woollacott, PhD, neuroscientist, meditation researcher, and author of Infinite Awareness. Dr. Woollacott weaves decades of pioneering research with her own lived experience of yogic awakening to reveal how asana, pranayama, and meditation reshape the brain, harmonize the nervous system, and open the doors to expanded consciousness—insights the ancient yogis understood with astonishing clarity.

Throughout the afternoon you’ll be guided into embodied inquiry, trauma-informed understanding, and heart-centered dialogue—all held in a space that honors the universal human capacity to heal, awaken, and transform.

At times like these when the world feels turbulent or overwhelming, the call to return to center becomes both a refuge and a radical act. Steadiness becomes revolutionary. Presence becomes medicine. And gathering in community becomes a way of remembering who we are—and who we can become.

Summit Schedule & Session Themes

1:30–2:25pm | Marjorie Woollacott, PhD — The Neuroscience of Yoga, Awakening & Human Potential

Discover how yogic practices rewire neural pathways, regulate the autonomic nervous system, awaken subtle perception, and expand consciousness beyond ordinary cognition. Through both scientific insight and personal story, Dr. Woollacott reveals how ancient yoga mapped the architecture of awakening long before modern science—and how these teachings can help us deepen clarity, well-being, and spiritual realization today.

2:30–2:55pm | Jackie Prete — The Yogic Art of Transformation

Jackie invites you to experience practice as a portal to freedom. Through alignment, breath, and inquiry, learn how to meet discomfort with clarity and compassion—uncovering the joy, spaciousness, and ease available beneath our conditioned patterns.

3:00–3:25pm | Denise Hatch — Reclaiming Steadiness Through Embodied Awareness

Denise weaves neuroscience, somatic awareness, and yoga philosophy to reveal how we can transform stress imprints through breath, attention, and presence—restoring inner steadiness, clarity, and compassion.

3:30–4:00pm | Madhuri Martin — Yoga as a Radical Act of Resilience: Connection, Passion & Purpose

Madhuri illuminates yoga as an embodied path of truth and connection in a fragmented world. Through moment-to-moment awareness, emotional honesty, and intuitive intelligence, she guides us toward the steady delight of living from our deepest vision—regardless of outer circumstances.

Why This Summit Matters

More than ever, we need grounded, heart-centered tools that reconnect us—
to ourselves, to one another, and to what truly matters.

This gathering will help you:

• Understand how yogic wisdom and neuroscience support emotional and mental well-being
• Learn practices that calm the body, regulate the nervous system, and steady the mind
• Explore how equanimity becomes a radical act of clarity, compassion, and awakening
• Deepen your personal or teaching practice with trauma-informed, embodied approaches
• Build community and remember that we rise stronger when we rise together

Who This Is For

Yoga practitioners, teachers, healers, therapists, educators, community leaders, meditators, and anyone seeking grounded tools for clarity, steadiness, and awakening. Whether you are navigating uncertainty, recovering from burnout, or longing for deeper presence, this summit offers a pathway home—to balance, purpose, and embodied freedom.
