Let’s celebrate our amazing marine habitats and species  and discover what lies just beneath the waves!

Happy Out Cafe, Dun Laoghaire

Join DLR Climate Action Week for a Marine Biodiversity Walk &amp; Talk meeting at Happy Out Café. We will walk along the seafront from Dún Laoghaire Baths to Sandycove beach where we will explore rockpools and the seashore. We will hear from Coastwatch about how you can get involved in Citizen Science to help protect marine biodiversity! 🐚🌿Come along and learn about important marine species and habitats of Dublin Bay Biosphere and the conservation projects taking place on our doorstep including native oyster restoration, conservation projects for our off shore islands and seabird protection. Explore the rich and surprising life that thrives just below the surface as we take a look at the marine life along the seashore uncovering the fascinating world of rock pools, marine seaweeds, and creatures big and small. We'll shine a spotlight on our precious seagrass beds—vital underwater habitats that support marine biodiversity and help combat climate change.We'll also take a closer look at some invasive marine species —what they are, how they spread, and why they're a growing concern for our local ecosystems. Learn how to spot them, and how we can all play a part in protecting our coasts.Please note: Children must be accompanied by an adult. Places are limited.
