Gallery of Trans Joy

The Brandeis Department of Music presents 40-60 concerts each year in the Slosberg Recital Hall—a one of a kind acoustical gem—as well as in locations across the Brandeis campus. Featuring:Marquee Concerts*: An exceptional series of professional performances that feature faculty and visiting artists, including the legendary Lydian String Quartet.Student Concerts: Outstanding student ensembles and music majors perform music ranging from classical favorites to improvisational jazz to the rhythms of Ghana.Music at Mandel: The Department of Music and the Mandel Center for the Humanities (MCH) host lunchtime concerts throughout the year in the stunning MCH Atrium.Brand New Music: Professional and student performers showcase contemporary works from Brandeis student, faculty, and alumni composers.

2025 Leonard Bernstein Festival of the Arts

This year, we honor Leonard Bernstein’s legacy with the theme “Art Lives On.” Through student art, music, and crafts—plus Earth Day exhibits—we celebrate how art connects generations, inspires change, and helps us envision a better future.

Location: Skyline Commons, Brandeis UniversityWho we are: We are two trans students at Brandeis University in Waltham, MA, creating the Gallery of Trans Joy as part of a course on Creative Arts and Social Transformation. We believe that art has the power to create hope and change. We know that trans lives are beautiful, and are excited to create a space to share that beauty.
