Library Street Collective specializes in cutting edge contemporary fine art with a focus on emerging and established artists who have pushed the boundaries of traditional medium and exhibition space. Located in the heart of downtown Detroit, we present regular group and solo exhibitions while contributing to the artistic renaissance of the city's public, private, and heritage spaces. It is our mission to bring both world-renowned artists and exciting new work to a reimagined Detroit, as well as carry this sentiment as we expand our presence through exhibitions, special projects and art fairs nationally and internationally.

Join us for the opening of The Sea and the Sky, and You and I, an exhibition curated by Allison Glenn at the Shepherd on Saturday, May 17, 2025 from 6-8pm. In this moment of intense climate change and ever shifting policy, what does it mean to care for, tend to, and remember a landscape? The Sea and the Sky, and You and I presents artists and cultural organizers who consider the enduring relationships between humans and subterranean, terrestrial, and imaginary landscapes in Detroit and beyond. Doors will open at 6 PM, and the opening reception will continue until 8 PM. Guests are invited to enjoy the Shepherd’s grounds throughout the evening, with a celebration to follow outdoors. As a part of the evening, exhibiting artist Scott Hocking will unveil a new sculpture at the art altar. To attend the opening reception, please RSVP using Eventbrite. We hope to see you there!
