We have curated a collective of proven teachers, facilitators, and spiritual directors to help guide your learning in mindfulness, contemplation, art and action. Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Jokes for the Road: An Intro to Comedy Improv for All!</h2><p>Domains: Creative Expression</p><p>Sometimes, we need to laugh to keep from crying. Other times, we need to laugh because joy is a human right. Finding humor in the tough times can offer us distance, perspective, and even empathy. Spaces for collective laughter offer us rituals of release, inviting each of us to show up as we are: noisy, raucous, awkward, vulnerable, and unexpectedly hilarious. Indeed, laughter is an expression of embodiment that is perhaps fundamental to our ability to cope in community. Whatever your reasons, this introduction to comedy improvisation could be for you! This four-week class series will draw upon comedy improv games galore to offer you a platter of joke-generators that you can take, leave or adapt with your own taste in humor. No experience necessary: ALL are welcome (but please wear pants)! </p><p>Kaia Jackson (they/them) is a healing arts facilitator, youth worker and movement chaplain committed to practicing trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and healing-centered methods of facilitation. They recently completed their MDIV program with a newfound commitment to take themselves less seriously. Prior to seminary, they facilitated intergenerational community workshops in creative movement/drama, storytelling, comedy improv and more through Valley Storytelling Collective. Kaia has also served on the Collective Leadership Team with Survivor Theatre Project for many years, and continues to learn how to hold the silly alongside the serious as we sustain ourselves in movements for justice &amp; healing.
