Click here to join today.</a></p><h2>Taoist Talks &amp; Meditation: Exploring Ancient Ideas Through a Modern Lens</h2><p>Domains: Body, Mapping Tools, Contemplative Practice</p><p>As the days grow shorter and the nights become longer, take a cue from nature to slow down and turn inside. The trees are sending their energy underground for the winter. We humans also need to ground our energy by quieting the mind and body in order to take a deep look into ourselves so that we might encounter our True Self.</p><p>Join Chris McLaren for an hour of ‘guided’ discussion, meditation and perhaps a practice. We will read and discuss selected quotes, ideas or philosophies from sources such as the I-Ching and authors such as Qigong Grandmaster Mantak Chia and Kenneth Cohen.</p><p>How do these ideas resonate with modern life, if at all? If they do, how can we apply them as modern humans? This is not a scholarly review nor a detailed lesson. It is a discussion amongst friends about the application of ancient ideas in an emerging reality.</p><p>The meditation will be an alchemy of internal energy practices. We will learn the basics of Taoist healing practices to heal our internal organs and cleanse the body from stagnant or excess Qi. According to the 5 Elements Theory, each organ system is responsible for certain physical and emotional energy patterns. Using gentle movement, sound and visualization, we will learn to cleanse and energize each of these systems to rejuvenate the entire body.</p><p>Chris has gathered a unique set of skills and tools that have the potential to help you make sense of your consciousness journey. After almost 30 years of working as a financial advisor, he now helps people to heal their mind, body, and spirit through teaching about the Enneagram, Qigong and Meditation. As we learn to accept and integrate all aspects of our self, we move closer to our True Self.  </p><p>Chris spent the last 16 years learning and practicing the art of Qigong with several Qigong Masters. During this time he has learned and practiced various healing meditations and internal energy practices. Many of these meditations and practices are based on the Taoist philosophies regarding how energy moves through our bodies and the universe. It is his desire to discuss, as a group, some of these ideas to see how they resonate today, or not. There will be opportunities to learn and practice several of these healing meditations.</p><h3>Your Zoom link will be sent with your registration confirmation.
