The Wellington Civic Trust was established in 1981 to make Wellington the best of all possible places to live and work. We work to encourage public participation in decisions that affect our city, while ensuring good planning and design are applied to address the challenges of the future.The Trust works to preserve the best of the old while supporting new developments that will enhance the city. We encourage the retention of green spaces and features such as the Town Belt and harbour.The Trust organises forums and seminars on topics of interest and importance, and recognises outstanding urban development projects with its Biennial awards programme.
