CONTEMPORARY TECHNIQUE with JASMINE HEARNFRIDAY, DECEMBER 4 &amp; 11 FROM 10-11AM ESTJasmine Hearn is from the land of the Karankawa and Atapake people, now known as Houston, TX. A curator, director, choreographer, organizer, teaching artist, and 2017 Bessie award winning performer, they are currently a company member with Urban Bush Women and a 2019 Jerome Foundation Jerome Hill Fellow. Jasmine also creatively collaborates with Alisha B. Wormsley, Vanessa German, Holly Bass, Jennifer Nagle Myers, and Solange Knowles.Jasmine’s creative embodied practice is rooted in a variety of social and performative dance and vocal traditions and techniques, Hatha yoga, and somatic practices, such as BodyMindMovement. As a teaching artist and choreographer, they are greatly influenced by teachers/mentors, Claudette Nickens Johnson, Byronné J Hearn, Marjani Forté-Saunders, Marlies Yearby, Kathryn Leary, Staycee Pearl, Jawole Willa Zollar, jhon r. stronks, Kendra Portier, Barbara Mahler, Pamela Pietro, Sherie van den Wijngaard, Joy KMT, Alisha B. Wormsley, Samita Sinha, Lisa E. Harris, Kendra Portier, and Pyeng Threadgill. Jasmine has been able to share their solo and collaborative work at New York Live Arts, BAAD!, Danspace Project, The Camargo Foundation, Pillsbury Theater, La MaMa Theater, Kelly Strayhorn Theater, and site specific locations in Pittsburgh, PA, Houston, TX, and Washington DC.CLASS FEES:<ul><li>Student/Low Income: $5-$25</li><li>Employed/Financially Stable: $15-$50</li><li>Arts Supporter/Able to Give: $25-$500</li></ul>Questions?
