Ayurveda is an ancient system of healing that originates from India, deeply rooted in vedic wisdom and practiced for thousands of years. As we share this class, we want to acknowledge and honor the cultural traditions and indigenous knowledge from which Ayurveda comes. Rebecca has studied this wisdom with deep respect, and our goal today is to present their teachings while encouraging further learning from authentic voices within the tradition.Seasonal Ayurvedic Practices for Nourishment &amp; LifestyleThose of living in the Northeast experience a significant shift in nature’s elements at this time of year. Moving from the deep Winter to early Spring can be a notable experience for many, commonly bringing about head colds, allergies, brain fog, and an overall feeling of sluggishness. The ancient health and health science of Ayurveda offers intuitive tips and tools to adjust our lifestyle in ways that can support a graceful transition from the harsh elements of deep winter to the nourishing elements of spring. Making small shifts in our routines, activities, and food choice can ward off the common imbalances described above. She offers individualized and group coaching services for those seeking to develop a personalized, nature-based diet and lifestyle. With two decades as an avid yoga and meditation practitioner, Rebecca is passionate about sharing the benefits of inner reflection and self-knowledge as a primary means to health and wellbeing. Her passion is to support others in pursing optimal health by discovering a deeper understanding of their true nature, tapping personal strengths, and gaining clarity around purpose in life. Rebecca’s formal career has been spent in senior living development and management. She currently works for Hebrew SeniorLife, and is leading the expansion of an innovative model of care that brings proactive wellness services to older adults living in affordable housing communities. Prior to serving in this role, she helped to bring a wellness coaching model to senior living communities around the US.
