On the sidelines of CPD 58, join us for a discussion on why investments in health, including in sexual and reproductive health, are critical to boosting socioeconomic progress and building resilient health systems. Development policies often highlight the benefits of a demographic dividend—the prospect of socioeconomic progress when the working age population is relatively larger than other age groups. As promising as it sounds, realizing demographic dividends is easier said than done.The African Union Development Agency—NEPAD, Government of Germany, Population Council, and UNFPA invite you to learn from experts on why investments in health, especially for young people , are critical to achieving the demographic dividend.
