Heaven Gallery is a non-profit and multi-disciplinary arts space in the Wicker Park neighborhood that presents artists and musicians. The gallery widely promotes an open proposal process and does not charge submission or exhibition fees. In 2018, Heaven received over 120 proposals from curators and artists. All of our programs are open to the public and include art openings, artist talks, concerts, film festivals and community events. Heaven strives to make art accessible to all community members; our art exhibitions and talks are free of charge and all music events are open to audiences on a pay-what-you-can basis. Heaven also hosts regular community events to help promote public discourse through discussion and education.Over the past 19 years, Heaven Gallery has established itself as a launching pad for Chicago artists in all media including painting, sculpture, photography, film, and digital art.

Join artist and DJ Sadie Woods in a Virtual Music Box Orchestra workshop hosted by Heaven Gallery in partnership with Equity Arts. In this 2-hour workshop, participants will learn how to make a music box and play their own composition over zoomTo participate in the Virtual Music Box Orchestra Workshop, please be sure to purchase kits in advance and register here on Eventbrite. Music box kits will be available for curbside pick up at Heaven Gallery, 1550 N Milwaukee Ave, second floor, during our gallery hours (Friday/Saturday, 1-6PM, Sunday 1-5PM) or delivery upon request ($5 fee to Chicago residents only). Supplies are limited and available upon a first come, first serve basis. Open to all ages, no experience necessary.One music box kit ticket is $35 and includes:<ul><li>1 unique wood cigar box</li></ul><ul><li>1 hand music box hand crank</li></ul><ul><li>1 hole puncher</li></ul><ul><li>3 strips of blank sheet music</li></ul>This workshop is limited to 14 people. A zoom link to the event will be sent to all registered participants on December 5th. If you are unable to make this date, the workshop will be recorded and you will be able to make the music box afterwards. -------Award winning artist Sadie Woods has had an exciting career, showcasing her talents everywhere from academia to nightclubs, boutiques to museums. As a multidisciplinary artist, curator and deejay, Woods&#x27; work focuses primarily on social movements and resistance, and producing collaborations within communities of difference. Woods received her BA from Columbia College and MFA from The School of the Art Institute. She is currently Faculty at the School of the Art Institute, Residents Orchestrate Project Manager at the Chicago Sinfonietta, and radio DJ at Vocalo 91.1FM and Lumpen Radio 105.5FM.Awards and residencies include: 3Arts Make A Wave Grant; 3Arts Artist Projects; Propeller Fund; Magasin—Centre National d&#x27;Art Contemporain Curatorial Program, FR; Arts + Public Life Curatorial Collective; Chicago Artists Coalition HATCH Projects Curatorial Residency; City of Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Events Esteemed Artist Award; Independent Curators International Collaborator, SN; Bemis Center for the Arts Artist-In-Residence; Ragdale Foundation Artist-In-Residence. She has exhibited her work at Chicago Cultural Center; Krasl Art Center, MI; The New Gallery, NC; Weinberg/Newton Gallery, IL. Curatorial projects include The Petty Biennial, and Not In My Name exhibition featured at EXPO art fair.
