It involves applying localized pressure to a specific area of muscle or soft tissue while simultaneously stretching the muscle in the opposite direction. The aim of pin and stretch is to release tension, increase flexibility, and promote better range of motion.The pin and stretch technique can be performed on various muscle groups, such as the hamstrings, quadriceps, calves, shoulders, and neck. It is typically used in conjunction with other massage techniques to address specific muscular imbalances and dysfunctions.In this interactive hands-on BASIC Introductory class, you will learn:1. Description of the Modality2. Account of its historical development3. Benefits &amp; Contraindications4. Specific techniques for basic trainingPlease wear comfortable flexible clothing. Bring a set of sheets, pillowcase or face cradle cover, blanket, and pump bottle with your preferred lotion or cream.Certificates of completion will be issued at the end of the class. Please use the name you want on your certificate when you register.You Do NOT need to bring a table, we have plenty!CEs good for Pennsylvania Licensed Massage Therapists – CEs approved by the Pa State Board for Massage Therapy. This class will be with current massage students at the WIofCC however only licensed massage therapists will earn continuing education credits.
