About this event

The Beca Quartet, comprising violinists Jory Lane and Messiah Ahmed, violist Aditi Prakash, and cellist Miles Goosby, formed in August 2023 at the start of their graduate degrees at the Juilliard School. Since its inception, the quartet has performed a vast stylistic range of music, including jazz, film score, and folk, in addition to the classical canon. Shortly after coming together, the group was featured as part of the LA Philharmonic’s California Festival alongside Juilliard alumni and film composer Kris Bowers, and film director Ava DuVernay. Recently, the Becas have been featured in performances by WQXR, the Czech Philharmonic’s residency at Carnegie Hall, Juilliard’s Honors Chamber Music program, and the Bohemian National Hall. The Beca Quartet is celebrated for their authenticity and approachability and has been praised for their ability to bridge the gap between performers and audiences.
