Grassroots activism can feel like a struggle, especially in the South where change seems to come too little and too late. Environmental justice feels like a particularly thorny issue, because it lies at the intersection of poverty and climate change. Each month, a speaker that has wisdom to share about a particular topic or life path meets virtually with the Reckon Women Group in an intimate setting that allows for one-on-one questions and deep conversation. This is more than a speaker series, it’s more like a town hall that fosters connection and creates community.
