This is an opportunity to connect with neighbors, share your experiences, and explore project ideas for a stronger, more resilient community.This event is free &amp; open to the public. <h3>Meet Your Facilitators</h3>Damian Costello: Damian Costello received his Ph.D. in theological studies from the University of Dayton and specializes in the intersection of Catholic theology, Indigenous spiritual traditions, and colonial history. He is an international expert on the life and legacy of Nicholas Black Elk and the author of Black Elk: Colonialism and Lakota Catholicism. Costello was born and raised in Vermont and his work is informed by many years of ethnographic work on the Navajo Nation. Costello serves the director of postgraduate studies at NAIITS: An Indigenous Learning Community, an Indigenous designed and delivered ATS accredited graduate school.Mohamed Defaa: Mohamed Defaa is certified by the International Center for Educational and Cultural Consulting in Lyon, France. He earned an MA in Communication and Expression at the University Mohamed V in Rabat, Morocco, and a BA in French Language and Literature from the University Ibn Tofail in Kénitra, Morocco. Defaa has served as an assistant professor of Communication and Cultural Expression at the University Hassan the Second in Casablanca, Morocco, and a college instructor in New Hampshire and Massachusetts. He is a French and Arabic teacher at Merrimack High School, and an Arabic instructor at Southern New Hampshire University.

<h3>About the Whitefield Public Library</h3>For over a century, the Whitefield Public Library has been a welcoming space, offering access to a collection of over 14 thousand books and connecting people with the resources they need to live their best lives. Built in 1904, this historic building is undergoing a transformative expansion, leveraging funding from CDFA’s Community Center Investment Program.To continue meeting the ever-changing needs of the community, the renovations will enhance ADA accessibility and create dedicated community space to better serve residents from all walks of life — families, seniors, telecommuters, and those in need of critical services.Beyond books, the Whitefield Public Library is a place where people can fill out job applications, navigate online resources, take workshops to learn new skills, or simply enjoy reading the newspaper and talking to other people. The newly renovated space will allow for expanded programming, social services, and civic engagement as a town voting location and venue for annual town meetings.
