We have consecrated a space for you to be this winter. It’s a real-life place in what we call our “Fellowship Hall” to learn new creative things and practice them, to experiment, to fall flat on your face, to laugh, to lament and to discover new joy. Creative expression is one of the ways we can let all the pandemic and other life emotions be felt - and set free.We will provide everything you need, just show up!Registration is free! Our November 16 workshop is: Soul Collage CardsIt's like scrapbooking for your heart! In this workshop, you'll choose from a collection of photos and illustrations to make meaningful collages that sing to your unique life. You might make one card to remind you of friendship or your joy of hiking or puzzles. Another might tap into the mystery of loneliness and grief. Your creativity leads the way as we relax and work/play side by side to crystalize important dimensions of your life. As with everything in the Artist's Studio, it's impossible to do wrong. 🙂 A few notes about our leader:Richard Bruxvoort Colligan started on staff at Mount Olive last April and is the Cantor of Olive Branch. He has a passion for lifelong spiritual formation that often comes out in his songwriting. Richard loves Loves LOVES the psalms, and one of his other jobs is studying, teaching and singing them. Other faves: autumn, blue, the Beatles, mango lassi, naps, and dad jokes. He lives with his wife Trish in Strawberry Point, Iowa where they navigate a freshly emptied nest since their son Sam went to college.

A few notes about the Artist's Studio: We gather every Monday, but as we start out, every second week will include a workshop on a new art form. All other evenings are open studio time to continue working on projects from workshops or your own personal artistic endeavors. We are limited to 10 people each week in order to be safely distanced, and we will wear masks.Registration is required for each week you wish to attend, in order for you to know that a space is reserved for you.
