<h3>The Intercollegiate Film Festival recognizes the work of student filmmakers as part of an interconnected statewide film community. The festival provides networking opportunities and juried merit awards of distinction from industry professionals.</h3><h3>Join us for an eventful evening of films, inter-college conversations, and fun!</h3><h3>An awards ceremony will close out the evening, during which we will announce the winners of the festival!</h3> <h3>The Selected Films:</h3>Acres by Ella Thomsen - When the livelihood of young Annie's family farm is in jeopardy, she must decide if she should stand up and fight or give into societal norms.Alike by Vianna Kovaciny - A wolf hunts a coyote, seeking revenge.Back to Tempo by DJ Scheele - A determined high-school athlete races to reclaim her spot at the top.Be by Andy Sirianni - A poetic montage reflecting how we always want more than what we already have.Can't Live Without by Micah Clark - As high school sweethearts, Peter and Annie, prepare to attend different colleges after graduation, they feel the intense social pressures to make their relationship last. After being questioned thoroughly at Peter's going away party, they must trust what they’ve built or leave it behind.Capsule by Xiaoying Qu - After Xiaonian’s mother accidentally discovered that her daughter is having a hard time, she persuades Xiaonian to dig up the time capsule she buried in 2008. What memories hidden in the capsule open up Xiaonian's heart?Don't Slip Up by Mackenzie Diggins - Two young women attempt an illegal abortion procedure in a state where it’s banned. They think they have all their bases covered, but with the appearance of a new neighbor, their night gets a little more complicated. (Note: sensitive content)La Frontera by Paola Guerrero Abrego - This film follows a mother and her son who embark on their journey to immigrate to the United States by crossing through the U.S.-Mexico border. During their journey, the Border Patrol gives chase to the small group of immigrants, causing the mother and child to be separated during the panic.Predictable by Aubrey Connett - Ellison lives in a time loop, repeating the same day over and over, but she likes it that way! At least, until an unexpected event shatters her reality, leaving her to grapple with the unpredictability of daily life and the meaninglessness of life as a whole.Resonance by Caleb Welsch - A lonely young man looks to photograph a rare shooting star when he unexpectedly crosses paths with a chance for a real connection.Say Rape by Ashley Dahl - This film is a thought-provoking exploration of how the word rape is censored in media around the world. Through interviews, research, and personal stories, the film investigates the social, political, and institutional forces that silence critical conversations—and examines the impact of that silence on survivors, advocacy, and public awareness. (Note: sensitive content)Threshold by Matthew Sherrard - When a college student is challenged by his professor to accomplish the impossible, he takes on the difficult academic pursuit despite the criticism of others. Will he accomplish the task, saving his grade, or will he fail both the project and the class?Thick Skin by Danielle Russell - This film is about resilience and taking life one step at a time. Through spoken word the film draws on parallels between the human journey and the natural world, showing how we adapt, grow, and endure. Following a girl as she moves through a day, the film captures the quiet strength found in simply keeping going. <h3>Representing the following colleges/universities:</h3>Augsburg University, Bethany Lutheran College, Carleton College, Minneapolis College (MCTC), Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD), St. Olaf College, University of Minnesota, and University of Northwestern<h3> </h3><h3>When and Where</h3>Thursday, April 24, 2025Emagine Theater Willow Creek, 9900 Shelard Pkwy, Plymouth, MN<h3> </h3><h3>Schedule</h3>6:00 pm - Registration opens6:00 - 6:45 pm - Red Carpet Interviews and Photos7:00 pm - Screening of the films, followed by a Q&amp;A with the filmmakers and an awards ceremony <h3>Tickets</h3>Tickets are $14 (before Eventbrite fees), and include the film, Q&amp;A and awards ceremony(TCFF Members receive a 25% discount.) <h3>Parking</h3>Plenty of free parking!
