Join us for a guided mushroom “talk and walk” with expert John Wheeler,  founder of the Berkshire Mycological Society.  In addition to discovering all things mushrooms in the Northeast, you will learn how to identify and forage mushrooms of your own. John will also display mushrooms he’s foraged. Feel free to bring a few mushrooms from your backyard or recent walk for ID.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORBerkshire native and founder of the Berkshire Mycological Society, John Wheeler has been foraging mushrooms for 30+ years. You can find him leading walks and teaching at Berkshire Botanical Garden, TurnPark, Dry Hill, Mount Everett, and many other special spots only the real mushroom experts know. With every walk, there’s the possibility that he might add to the count of mushroom species he’s found in the Berkshires as a mushroom hunter: 1,100 to date.

Taconic Ridge Farm is a member of <a href="https://www.theworkshopexperience.org/" title="https://www.theworkshopexperience.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">TheWorkshopExperience.org</a>, a group of friends and neighbors who produce exceptional experiential learning through open gardens and workshops on a wide variety of topics in the Roeliff Jansen region, where the Hudson Valley and Berkshires meet.
