Founded in 1978 by dance and expressive arts therapy pioneers Anna Halprin and Daria Halprin, Tamalpa Institute is internationally recognized for its unique approach to movement, dance, and expressive arts therapy and education. Elemental Body Movements: Tree, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water2. Singing Body Practice: Tuning our bodies through sound, movement and rhythm3. Exploring and expressing our bodies through creative art practice4. Using the Halprin scoring process (RSVP cycles) to create individual and collective performances5. Development of performance &amp; ritual skillsDohee Lee was born on Jeju Island in South Korea, and studied Korean dance, music, percussion and vocals at the master level in Korea, and trained at Tamalpa. Lee is artistic director of PURI Arts and instructor at the Korean Youth Cultural Center from 2002 to 2008, resident artist and instructor at the Oakland Asian Cultural Center from 2008 to 2011, has been a guest instructor at San Francisco State University, Saint Mary’s College, UC Berkeley, UC Riverside, and Northern Illinois University.Workshops are for ages 18+ only and disability access is not provided.REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Registration will close 1 hour prior to the start time of the first class.REFUNDS: will only be given if cancellation is received at least 48 hours before the start of the first class.
