Non-permissive environments where security conditions limit ground movement can limit humanitarians’ situational awareness and decision making capacity. Remotely sensed imagery can be used to monitor large swaths of land in a timely manner to augment ground-level data and collect evidence of conflict-related events. In this talk, Isaac Baker, Caitlin Howarth, and Saira Khan discuss their experience using remote sensing technologies in conflict environments.
