For the past 17 years, Tree Fredericksburg and Tree Fredericksburg Tree Stewards have planted and cared for thousands of trees across the city, stepping in as the de facto city arborist until the hiring of an official arborist in 2024.In this presentation, learn about their efforts to plant over 10,000 trees, distribute more than 57,000 native trees and shrubs, and advocate for urban wildlife corridors and pollinator habitats. Bio: Anne Little is the co-founder of Tree Fredericksburg along with her husband Carl Little. Tree Fredericksburg is a non-profit entity dedicated to restoring the tree canopy in the city of Fredericksburg. Since 2008 Tree Fredericksburg has planted over 10,000 trees along streets, in schoolyards, and in parks throughout the city. Tree Fredericksburg has given away over 57,000 native trees to residents to plant in their yards. Little is the owner of Through the Garden Gate, a native plant design and landscaping company. Little is also a member of the Fredericksburg Green Committee; Past President of Trees Virginia, Virginia’s Urban Forest Council; and co-founder of the <a href="http://virginiabluebirds.org/" title="http://virginiabluebirds.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Virginia Bluebird Society</a>. She and her husband reside in downtown Fredericksburg.
