The Scotsburn Community Food Forest is hosting the 2nd Speakers Series of 2025 on Greenhouses and season extension

Scotsburn Fire Department, Scotsburn Road, Scotsburn, NS, Canada

This is a FREE event and the 2nd Winter Speakers Series offered by the Scotsburn Community Food Forest. A knowledgable panel of local speakers will offer insight into their own greenhouse and season extension journeys. We can learn a lot from sharing in community the valuable local knowledge we each learn as a result of the skills and technology that we each try. Often the best information is the learning of a failure from another's experience.The Winter Speaker Series will allow community members to attend, have a warm drink and in an informal setting glean from our panel of folks direct experience and knowledge. These local farmers, homesteaders and seed savers are all at varying stages of their journeys and have incredible first hand local info to share. This is NOT designed to be a "how to" build or care for your greenhouse. This panel is designed to learn and glean information in community that is relevant to where we live here in Pictou county This speaker series will be held at the Scotsburn Firehall located at 4179 Scotsburn Road There is no FEE for attendance but the SCFF would happily take donations.must register thru Eventbrite to attend : There is limited seatingRegister HERE: There will be warm drinks and light snack to share as we gather and listen. There will be a moderator for the experience and room for lots of Q and AThe Scotsburn Community Food Forest is invested in local food security and in the security of food across the country.
